Weekend #271: People I Thank God For

This post is dedicated to three of the people in my life I truly thank God for.

The girl on the far left is having her 30th birthday today! Happy birthday Nnisa! Welcome to Club 30s. LOL..!!

Other than her, my favorite group is also having their anniversary today so I decided to draw them hohoho…

I hate to think that tomorrow’s Monday and this awesome weekend I got to spend with my loveliest has finally come to an end. Sigh..

Weekend #251: Productive Weekend!

I’m feeling productive this weekend so I managed to make TWO drawings! Yay!

Trying new way of doing it and I’m kinda happy with how it turned out.

The first one is this morbid girl on too-happy background. I’m currently into pastel colors, but I don’t think this girl should be on the candylike background. I didn’t know what to do with the background, though, so I just did stars. Meh.

This one is a fan art for EPIK HIGH! I watched them live in Singapore on November 21, 2015 (which was, like, 3 weekends ago or something?) and I didn’t have the soul to draw that moment because half of my life actually went with the boys back to Korea I guess. It was too epik (BUT I DID WRITE A BLOGPOST ABOUT IT. CHECK IT OUT HEERRREEEE)

Anyway, I feel like I owe an art dedicated to that moment, so I did this. Beside, Tablo oppa replied my tweet twice after that concert, so I wanted to give this as a thank-you present. Ehem..

I hope EPIK HIGH saw this on Instagram because I tagged them :’)

Oh! Weekends Illustrated has instagram, you knowww… Follow me on @dongdoodle! 😉

See you next weekend.

Weekend #245: Weekend Kind of Working

This Saturday I gotta get to work.

The best concerts happen on weekend.
The best concerts happen on weekends.

No, not that kind of work. More like this kind of work:

Oh yeah I forgot I'm not one of those bands
Oh yeah I forgot I’m not one of those bands

BIGBANG and Epik High got to work on the weekends, too. I mean, they performed at A-Nation in Osaka, Japan last Saturday, and it’s not like it was a big deal, right. I hold no differences with BIGBANG and Epik High.

Weekend #165: When Things Get Tough, Make Good Art

Got really bored for the last couples of days, and my favorite author Neil Gaiman once said in his speech, “When things get tough, this is what you should do: Make good art.”

…I’m serious. Husband runs off with a politician — make good art. Leg crushed and then eaten by a mutated boa constrictor — make good art. IRS on your trail — make good art. Cat exploded — make good art. Someone on the Internet thinks what you’re doing is stupid or evil or it’s all been done before — make good art. Probably things will work out somehow, eventually time will take the sting away, and that doesn’t even matter. Do what only you can do best: Make good art. Make it on the bad days, make it on the good days, too.

So, yeah.

This weekend I kinda tried to get through my severe boredom by making some new arts, regardless its quality. You’re welcome to judge, I don’t care.

This one was based on what I feel when people hate my liking towards some certain music just because they think the musician dresses weird:

Oh how YouTube kills the radio star…..

This one was based on….. my always-sincere dedication towards Tablo. LOL! In the song “Lesson One” by EPIK HIGH, there’s a lyric saying “Tablo: Lyrical Assassin.” And I guess nothing can indeed describe Tablo better than that. So I made art out of that quote.

And I wanted to have a new wallpaper for my phone, so I made this:

And well, last but not least, other than trying to make good arts, I also spent this weekend throwing tantrum over nothing. I just had the worst mood everrrrr this weekend.

Little things turn out big deal in my head and my emotions are raging like madmen here!

Most probably because of this, actually:

That’s my period tracking calendar.

Hah. I always blame hormones everytime I get mad without a reason. Yes.

Feature: Mural of Melodies

I haven’t listened to my iPod for a while now and I missed doing it.

But listening to music isn’t like watching movies or reading books. It’d just feel awkward to listen to music and not do anything else. Like, it’d be so awkward to listen to your iPod and just stare at your bedroom ceiling.

So I decided to make a mural while I’m listening to my iPod on shuffle.

Not JUST a doodle, but I’d write the song down everytime I’d start a new line of drawing. So you’ll know what song was playing when I drew that line.

Hahaha not a big deal, but I thought it’d be fun.

So here’s what it turned out like. (I wish I had a scanner, though, so I could scan the whole picture in good quality).

Can you guess how many songs it took for me to finish this drawing? Leave a comment! If you can mention the whole songlists, it’ll be better!

Have fun!

Weekend #148: Fantasy Talk

Friday, February 15th, 2013. Met my sisters @andhyne, @ryajuwita, and our friend @weddewi at 8 in the evening. Did a very pointless long fantasy talk until 3 in the morning. Really, REALLY enjoyed it. I wish the night was forever…

Our wild, messed-up discussion went more or less like this:

I just LOVE trash talk at night.

Grouphug, girlsssss!!!! ❤ 🙂

Drew more Tablo fanart again and I tweeted this again but Tablo hasn’t replied yet like he did for my earlier fanart T__T

Weekend #146: EPIK HIGH

Being a fan of BIGBANG has kinda opened a door for me to know more about Korean musicians. They actually have richer music than the kind of bubblegum K-Pop most of us know!

I am recently listening to a trio called Epik High with frontman named Daniel Armand Lee (or best known as TABLO) who had lived in Canada for several years when he was young and had graduated from Stanford with master degree in English Literature and Creative Writing *,*

Mithra Jin, one of the rapper in the group was originally a poet and he did poetry readings in the past. *o ma gah!!!

While the DJ, Tukutz, used to play live events around Boston & New York City area.

Now you don’t have to wonder why their lyrics and music have officially stolen my only heart, that I am dedicating this week’s post to them 😀

From left to right: Mithra Jin (rapper), Tablo (rapper), Tukutz (DJ)

This is one of my favorite songs out of the first album I’ve heard of them:

Tablo has also released a solo album and the lyrics to this song have officially killed me:

Nowadays, Epik High has created music that is more lively than gloomy, though, but I still love it ❤ ❤

By the way, if you’re wondering:

I DO have 2 twitter accounts. Beside my primary @rarambol account, that @epikluna account is mine, too. I made it for just fangirling K-pop things. Ha! So I posted this drawing to twitpic via @epikluna account. My sister retweeted it. And then it’s late night already. I wrote on my twitter “Okay tomorrow is Monday, I gotta go to sleep. Anyeong!”

Lights out!

I pulled my blanket.

Then my phone vibrated. It’s my sister Rya. (She’s at my parents’s house, I’m at my boarding house).

Me: “Helloooo…..”

I was, like, whatthefuck???????????

Beep… beep… beep…

So I checked Twitter from my phone.

And there it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here I am not going to sleep like I promised myself, and updating this blog instead!!
